Hangout for experimental confirmation and demonstration of software, computing, and networking. The exercises don't always work out. The professor is a bumbler and the laboratory assistant is a skanky dufus.

Safe Software: Getting Easier?

ACM News Service: How to Make Safe Software.  Gary McGraw, co-author with John Viega of the 2001 Building Secure Software, opines that there is a shift away from frills and thrills toward accountability in the software industry.  “McGraw recommends that developers incorporate software assurance throughout the design of every package, which entails considering the end requirements of a system as well as the potential threats hackers may pose to it.”

The Robert A. Guth 2005-07-18 Wall Street Journal article requires a paid subscription to access.  However, a web search for ‘McGrath "Safer Software"’ will find interesting articles from SD Magazine and other CMP publications (also involving very quirky registration, ads, and cookies as part of access, a wonderful quality of publications featuring security topics).
